Job Title: Communications and Project Development Officer
Organization: Rwenzori Development Foundation (RDF) (U) LTD
Duty Station: Fort Portal, Uganda
Reports to: Administration Officer
Rwenzori Development Foundation is a registered company limited by guarantee under registration number 123199 with its office located at plot 10 Malibo road in Fort Portal Uganda. Our mission is to support and enable the development of self-reliant and sustainable rural communities in south-western Uganda (Rwenzori region) through empowering education and conservation programs hence improving the lives of people living in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The role will be largely fundraising, securing funds for future projects and to make this role sustainable in future years.
Support the registration process with the National NGO Board with the Ministry of Internal Affairs
To raise the profile of RDF Uganda and network with other local NGOs.
Putting together quarterly reports and reviews.
Regularly update the RDF website and prepare a quarterly News update of the RDF activities
Share widely the activities, and impact of RDF activities in the region.
Attend board meetings- and present progress reports to the board.
Represent RDF at regional and National meetings/conferences
Qualifications Skills and Experience:
The suitable candidate should hold a diploma/ degree in Development studies, Social works and Administration or any related degree from a recognized institution.
A minimum of three or more years' experience working in the NGO.
Should have experience in creating projects and managing grants
Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Creative decision making and problem solving skills.
Strong task management, planning and organizational skills.
Strong Self-drive and able to work under minimal supervision
Strong proficiency in technology including the Internet, Email, Microsoft Office applications especially in Word, Power point, Excel, and Adobe reader
