Dave Edwards and I met up with Mike Ralph by chance going to Sardinia
- great walking in the Supramonte and along the Orosei coast and
lots of laughs - legs toughening up - back to running on bitter
cold mornings - yuk.

Begun early morning walks up Box Hill with glacier boots - hard
going - getting feet/legs used to boots - plus running every other
day - all far too keen. Aim now is not to get injured .

16 miler aound the Downs with Dave - feeling tad tired!; great news
- meeting up with locals in Uganda to see projects.

Update 5:

The
Challenge Begins!
Richard set off for Uganda on New Year's Day ... he arrived safely
and will be making his way to the start point for the trek right
now!

The
Final Preparations ...
The journey so far has been very good. Richard stayed in Mweya where
he's seen some incredible wildlife. Today he was in Kasese where
he met his guide and porters. Provisions were purchased and last
minute details checked. Later they will be heading out to base camp.
It's all systems go!

And
he's off!
Richard is on his way! We'll post more news on his progress just
as soon as we have it!

HE'S
DONE IT!!!
Richard has completed the 10 day trek and climbed all the peaks.
It was a hard but challenging experience and he is fit and well.
The guide and porters were excellent and everyone has been great
in looking after him.

Visiting
the local projects ...
Tuesday, 17th Jan., Wednesday, 18th Jan., and Thursday 19th Jan,
Richard will be in the Kabali National Forest, staying at a river
camp (Fort Portal).
He
is meeting with Tinka John on Wednesday to visit other RDF projects.
On Friday, he is travelling to Entebbe and staying at the Imperial
Botanical Hotel on the shores of Lake Victoria before starting his
journey home on Saturday via Nairobi. He is due to arriveback in
the U.K. on Sunday!
Phew!
